Decades after the co-founding of the American Indian Movement, Dennis Banks is still going strong on his path to secure the rights of the American Indian. At a time in his life when many begin to slow down, the Ojibwa from Minnesota is still running to tell the story of the Native American. But we got him got a little time out.

A: My purpose is to bring about positive change for Native people.
Q: What do you want to say to college students?
A: To always challenge the wrongs they see.
Q: What is the current state of the Native American struggle?
A: We are still struggling for land and water rights.
Q: What do you expect of Native American college students?
A: I expect them to go the course.

A: AIM is the spiritual strength.
Q: What is next for Dennis Banks?
A: To continue as I am.
Q: What is the problem with the Indian Mascot?
A: It’s a terrible activity to mock Indians.
Q: Why is the Native American story untold?
A: White Hollywood won’t tell the story and neither will the US.
