With back to school season underway, it's the out with the old and in with the new. But instead of simply discarding old jeans, denim skirts and jean jackets, donate last year's trends to the Cotton's Dirty Laundry Tour Denim Drop Campaign.

The PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) is hosting the
Cotton's Dirty Laundry Tour event September 19 on the Auditorium field. The day will feature a number of events bringing together music, game-show-like activities (prizes to ensue) and an interactive and informational tent.

Cotton's Dirty Laundry Tour is a denim drive targeting students as well as the entire East Lansing community. More than a year after Hurricane Katrina ripped across the Gulf Coast, schools and homes in Baton Rouge are still in desperate need of help. Our donated denim will be shredded and made into UltraTouch building insulation. This will provide materials for the building of a new school in Baton Rouge.

The goal of the event is to collect as much denim as possible. Any denim will suffice: from your mom's old '80's jean jacket to a pair of jeans that cease to fit after the freshman fifteen. Denim with stains or embellishments is also acceptable.

Each donation is rewarded with five dollars off a pair of Buckle jeans or a free music download card.

While a donation bin will be set up on the day of the event, the PRSSA encourages you to start donating today. Leading up to the day of the event, look for donation bags located around campus.
