Welcome to Spartan Edge’s new and improved sports section, your exclusive source for everything and anything involved in the world of MSU sports. 

Lets face it, an alternative online newspaper can’t compete with ESPN and the Detroit News and Free Press for coverage on the Spartans big three: football, basketball, and hockey. 

Instead of fighting it, we here at Spartan Edge have decided to roll with the punches and find our own way of doing things.

The sports scene at MSU is much more than what you see on ABC and its affiliates.  There’s over 20 varsity programs, over 40 club programs, and even more IM programs at MSU, and it’s about time that they have their own spotlight, a showcase.

It’s our goal to be a new voice for the student body, and in this section, the voice of the student-athlete.  Log on each week to see interviews, profiles, and game recaps from anything taking place on the banks of the Red Cedar, from IM ping pong to varsity soccer.
